The hosts of the Blockchain Africa Conference 2019, Bitcoin Events, have announced the keynote speakers for the Cape Town leg of the conference.
The two speakers are Western Cape premier, Helen Zille and Western Cape minister of economic opportunities, Beverly Ann Schäfer.
“We are fortunate to have Premier Zille and Minister Schäfer as our keynote speakers in Cape Town. The Western Cape Government is clearly committed to learning more about emerging technologies such as blockchain and its potential for economic growth and job creation,” conference organiser, Sonya Kuhnel said in a statement.
While Zille and Schäfer aren’t the blockchain experts we’d expect to see giving a keynote at Blockchain Africa it is good to see government representation at events such as this.
There is no denying that blockchain technology can disrupt a number of industries and perhaps it will be good for the premier to see how influential technology can be.
Other speakers scheduled to address attendees at Blockchain Africa Conference 2019 include chair of the South African Financial Blockchain Consortium, Tanya Knowles, CEO of BankservAfrica, Chris Hamilton and senior fintech specialist at the SA Reverse Bank, Anrich Daseman.
There is also a bit of a special on at the moment.
For a limited time only standard tickets to the Johannesburg conference will carry a 30 percent discount while standard tickets to the Cape Town conference will be discounted by 20 percent.
