NATIVE-BRED three-year-olds take centre stage at Caymanas Park tomorrow as they continue preparation for the upcoming Classic races by contesting the running of the John Clifton Wright Memorial Cup feature on the 11-race programme.

The maiden special weight, which is confined to fillies only, is divided into two sections and is to be competed for over 6 furlongs (1,200m) for a purse of $870,000.

Ten horses have been entered to contest Division One and as usual, the Supreme Racing Guide shares with readers a deeper look into each runner and their chances of winning in post-position order.

ANSWERED PRAYERS: (3-y-o, b f – Casual Trick See Da Breeze) — Nicely bred filly who makes her debut. Looks to be of good worth and has been working fairly well in the mornings, Answered Prayers from the barn of Michael Marlowe should give a favourable impression the first time of asking.

CRYPTOCURRENCY: (3-y-o, b f – Adore The GoldPleasant Ending) — Has raced three times before with average performances. Cryptocurrency’s last two outings have been second-place finishes and she should now be cherry ripe to go one better. The Philip Feanny trainee finished 2 lengths behind Enedina over 5 ½ furlongs (1,100m) on December 22, 2018, before going down 2 ¼ lengths to Special Counsel over 5 furlongs (1,000m) straight on January 26, 2019. In those two runs, Cryptocurrency was seen making late headway in deep stretch and now with this extended trip, could get up in time for the win. This is the perfect opportunity for this filly to release the maiden tag.

KIAH: – (3-y-o, b f) — Going to need some time before she can come into her own.

CASE CLOSED: (3-y-o, b. f – Soul WarriorGo Flint) — Looks to be of some worth but winning the first time of asking maybe too much for her to deal with in this one. Case Closed development should be watched by race goers.

SUPER STUNNER: (3-y-o, b f – Archarcharch – Shahalie Slammer) — Interesting bred in utero filly who should benefit greatly from this pipe-opener. However, she is going well at exercise and should the principals fail, then don’t look beyond Super Stunner. Clockers are indicating that Super Stunner is going to run well in this one plus her trainer Ian Parsard is enjoying great form at the present time.

SHE IS CALLING U: (3-y-o, b f – Urban KingCitronella) — Down the track on her debut, finishing in 14th place by 14 lengths behind Special Counsel and Cryptocurrency on January 26 in the Eight Thirty Sprint run over five furlongs straight. She Is Calling U has been coming along at her own pace since that race and should run better in this one but winning is way out of the question.

GIMMIPALINKA: (3-y-o, ch f – TraditionalPower To Please) — Was a late non-starter on her intended debut at the races last week Saturday. Then Gimmipalinka was expected to figure in that race but was deemed lame by the vets before the start of the event. The fact that Gimmipalinka has been brought back to the races this quick, means there must be some confidence in the camp. Gimmipalinka is not to be underestimated in this race.

NUCLEAR PROUD: (3-y-o, b f – Nuclear WayneMakin Me Proud) — Is going to be left behind again in this one.

REGGAE GONE GRAMMY: (3-y-o, b f – Western ClassicLittle Thunder) — One of those horses seemingly with promise but fails to deliver. Reggae Gone Grammy came to the races on September 29, 2018, and was expected to figure in the Cash Pot “Only One For Me” Trophy but failed to live up to the hype and was a no-show in that trophy race. Since then she has had three more outings, and again she failed to ignite any sparks. Her last two runs where she had finished in third place on both occasions showed that she is slowly but surely coming into her own. Reggae Gone Grammy is not to be taken lightly and if she can get it right this time around, then she will surely be unsaddled in the winners’ enclosure.

WHAT’S YOUR STORY: (3-y-o, ch f – Traditional Right Marker) — Has no chance here but then again this is horse racing.
